Providence Health & Services Clinical Trials Coordinator in Walla Walla, Washington
Providence is calling a Clinical Trials Coordinator (Cancer Center Clinical Trials Dept, Day Shift, 1.0 FTE) to Providence St. Mary Medical Center in Walla Walla, Washington. In this position you will:
Consistently demonstrates adherence to the principles and requirements outlined in the Commitments and Compliance Integrity Program and any other organization or departmental materials related to compliance with laws, regulatory requirements.
Consistently demonstrates adherence to Medicare and Medicaid regulations which directly or indirectly relate to the performance and job expectations.

Actively participates in departmental and organization performance improvement activities in accordance with hospital and joint commission standards.
Demonstrates leadership by performing his/her work in a manner that meets or exceeds the level of care and service that PSMMC promotes to the communities we serve.
Participates in hospital and department specific practices to maintain a clean, safe and comfortable environment for patients and staff.
Maintains the security and confidentiality of data and information used in performance of his/her daily duties conforming to hospital policy, laws and regulations as appropriate.
Follows established policies and procedures to identify and reduce the risks of acquiring or transmitting infection.
Maintains positive working relationships and fosters a cooperative work environment.
Communicates effectively with patients, physicians and staff in a professional manner.
Provides clear, concise, pertinent reports/information.
Assess patient/family learning needs, abilities, preferences and readiness to learn.
Utilizes a collaborative interdisciplinary process to provide appropriate patient/family education.
Utilizes appropriate teaching methods and/or referrals to ensure patient/family educational needs are met.
Utilizes available informations to evaluate the effectiveness of teaching in producing the desired patient outcomes and make adjustments in teaching as indicated.
Documents patient/family education.
Provides in-service training for nursing staff on upcoming studies. Coordinates participation of inpatient staff in the completion of protocol requirements.
Reports and documents any unusual patient or administrative occurrence that may have an effect on the patient’s and/or staff’s well being.
Ensures that laboratory studies, imaging studies and other pertinent medical records have been completed, and are available in the chart at the time of initial or follow-up visit.
Evaluates the contents of patient record for accuracy and completeness and reports relevant information to physicians and other members of the multidisciplinary team.
Required qualifications for this position include:
Research experience and training in human subjects research regulations
Familiarity with clinical trial protocols
Ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, physicians and other health care team members both orally and in writing
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
High SchoolDiploma or GED
Certification as a Research Coordinator by the Academy of Clinical Research Professionals
Two (2) years Oncology experience
