Providence Health & Services Director Clinical Services in Walla Walla, Washington

Description:

Providence is calling a Director Clinical Services ( Administration, Day Shift, 1.0 FTE ) to Providence Medical Group SE Washington, in Walla Walla, Washington. Providence Medical Group (PMG) is a physician-led, administratively supported organization, providing a continuum of services responsive to patient, provider and community needs.

In this position you will have the following responsibilities:

•Consistently demonstrates adherence to Medicare and Medicaid regulations which directly or indirectly relate to the performance and job expectations.

•Employee demonstrates knowledge of PSMMC’s policy on Patients Rights and Responsibilities and respects these rights and responsibilities in carrying-out daily activities.

•Actively participates in departmental and organization performance improvement activities in accordance with hospital and joint commission standards.

•Demonstrates leadership by performing his/her work in a manner that meets or exceeds the level of care and service that PSMMC promotes to the communities we serve.

•Participates in hospital and department specific practices to maintain a clean, safe and comfortable environment for patients and staff.

•Maintains the security and confidentiality of data and information used in performance of his/her daily duties conforming to hospital policy, laws and regulations as appropriate.

•Follows established policies and procedures to identify and reduce the risks of acquiring or transmitting infection.

•Maintains positive working relationships and fosters a cooperative work environment.

•Communicates effectively with patients, physicians and staff in a professional manner.

•Provides clear, concise, pertinent reports/information.

•Employee completes all tasks and duties accurately and timely within assigned shift. Demonstrates initiative to perform job duties autonomously.

•Attends mandatory and other education offerings per department and hospital requirements. May assist with education on the unit.

•JOB SPECIFIC FUNCTIONS.

•Actively participate in the development and implementation of short and long term strategies to enhance ambulatory care.

•Assist COO with preparation of business cases to support provider and staff recruitment and new services line.

•Participates in provider recruitment. Maintain excellent relationship with providers by proactively communication issues and developing and maintaining a culture of physician-lead, professionally managed ambulatory care.

•Ensure effective care management of all patient populations within clinics. Works with COO, practice managers and physician partners to develop and implement new clinic programs to increase and maintain patient volume and satisfaction.

•Lead Clinic performance improvement activities to ensure the development and implementation of processes that support quality patient care and effective work performance.

•Improve patient safety and provider satisfaction by developing workflows and documentation guidelines that optimize the use of electronic medical record (EMR).

•Lead strategies to enhance patience access including the advanced access model. Participate in clinic based quality improvement projects by acting as a team lead or member.

•Promote high levels of satisfaction with patients, providers and staff, by proactively addressing concerns through meaningful measures and interventions. Develop and nurture in staff in sense of shared ownership of patient satisfaction.

•Ensures effective, ongoing staff recruitment and retention through collaborative efforts with leadership, clinic staff and human resources. Continually offer insights into improvement with this function.

•Oversees the selection and supervision of staff according to organizational policies, procedures and protocols. Initiate/implementation corrective actions as required,

•Ensure all staff and providers are in compliance with applicable licensure, training and accreditation standards.

•Complete staff performance evaluations in a timely manner consistent with organizational policies, procedures and protocols.

•Act as a mentor for clinical managers, team leads and staff. Engender trust and creativity by involving staff and providers in problem-solving.

•Develop and refine processes to improve clinic operations by developing and revising workflows, policies and systems.

•Ensure staff and provider meetings are occurring on a regular basis and that they are documented.

•Participates on Providence Medical Group committees related to clinic and network-wide operational development and strategic initiatives.

•Act as a liaison between PMG and PSMMC Leadership and clinic providers and staff by proactively communication with all parties.

•Collaborate with Billing Office regarding all revenue cycle management functions. Ensure accurate and timely billing functions are handled within the clinic.

•Assist with the development of clinic metrics and monitor performance. Interpret metrics and communicates with staff.

•Oversee fiscal guidelines and standards for assigned clinic(s) including capital and operations budget. Ensure all financial standards are achieved and meet established productivity targets.

•Develop and monitor overall clinic budget. Investigate and report variances and make recommendations for operational improvements

Qualifications:

Required qualifications for this position include:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Management or any related field.

  • 5-7 years practice management experience within a progressive health care system or commensurate education and experience.

Preferred qualifications for this position include:

  • Master's Degree in Health Administration or Business Administration.
