Providence Health & Services Emergency Department Technician in Walla Walla, Washington
Providence is calling an Emergency Department Technician (Emergency Services, Variable Shift, 0.0 FTE) to Providence St. Mary Medical Center in Walla Walla, WA. In this position you will:
Consistently demonstrate adherence to the principles and requirements outlined in the Commitments and Compliance Integrity Program and any other organization or departmental materials related to compliance with laws, regulatory requirements
Consistently demonstrate adherence to Medicare and Medicaid regulations which directly or indirectly relate to the performance and job expectations
Employee demonstrate knowledge of PSMMC’s policy on Patient’s Rights and Responsibilities and respect these rights and responsibilities in carrying-out daily activities
Actively participate in departmental and organization performance improvement activities in accordance with hospital and joint commission standards
Demonstrate leadership by performing his/her work in a manner that meets or exceeds the level of care and service that PSMMC promotes to the communities we serve
Participate in hospital and department specific practices to maintain a clean, safe and comfortable environment for patients and staff
Maintain the security and confidentiality of data and information used in performance of his/her daily duties conforming to hospital policy, laws and regulations as appropriate
Follow established policies and procedures to identify and reduce the risks of acquiring or transmitting infection
Maintain positive working relationships and foster a cooperative work environment
Communicate effectively with patients, physicians and staff in a professional manner
Provide clear, concise, pertinent reports/information
Recognize and report signs/symptoms of abuse and neglect for all ages of patients served
Adhere to safety precautions including hazardous wastes and proper sharps disposal
Inventory patient care supplies and identify when it is necessary to order
Prepare, maintain and clean treatment and support areas as necessary
Monitor safety of all equipment
Assemble, disassemble and clean equipment according to established procedure
Communicate clearly and appropriately using age specific standards with patients and families of patients
Keep patients and families informed in a positive and courteous manner
Required qualifications for this position include:
Valid state of Washington Nursing Assistant Certification (without restrictions) and Medical Assistant Phlebotomist Certification (MA-P) or ability to obtain MA-P certification within 60 days after hire OR Current Washington State Certified Medical Assistant (MA-C)
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) – Healthcare provider (must be AHA accredited)
2 years experience as a Certified Nursing Assistant in Acute Care (hospital) or Medical Assistant Certified in a Clinic setting required.
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
High School Diploma or G.E.D.
Clerical or other clinical experience in a health care setting
