Providence Health & Services Licensed Massage Therapist in Walla Walla, Washington


Providence is calling a Licensed Massage Therapist (Outpatient Rehab Therapy, Day Shifts, 0.75 FTE) to Providence Medical Group in Walla, Walla, Washington. In this position you will:

  • Discusses patient’s symptoms, medical history, and desired results to evaluate painful or tense areas of the body. Establish a plan of care for prescribing, implementing, progressing, or modifying individualized massage therapy treatment interventions as appropriate to the patient’s/client’s response to treatment and learning needs.

  • Timely communication with the referring provider of any significant changes in the patients’ presentation that would require a screening or re-evaluation to adjust the plan of care and treatment goals. This would include, but not be limited to: a fall, a hospitalization, a significant decline in function as compared to previous visits.

  • Gathers data as it relates to the patients/client’s objective impairments, limitations and progress towards goals. Communicates findings to the referring provider as indicated.

  • Promotes injury prevention: in-servicing employees, families/caregivers and community groups as appropriate, and identifying and reporting potential concerns

  • Assists in developing, implementing, coordinating and reviewing massage therapy policies and procedures, and recommend changes as appropriate.

  • Supervises massage therapy students, volunteers, and other observers as assigned by Manager/Lead.


Required qualifications for this position include:

  • Graduated of an accredited massage therapy school required.

  • Current Washington State Licensure as Massage Practitioner, or temporary license if new graduate awaiting licensing exam results- required.Oregon licensure may be required if needed in the service area.

  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) - Health provider (must be AHA accredited.

Preferred qualifications for this position include:

  • Specialized massage therapy training or experience to meet a particular department need preferred.

  • Oregon licensure as Massage Practitioner, preferred
