Providence Health & Services Nurse Educator - Training and Development in Walla Walla, Washington
Providence is calling a Nurse Educator (Training And Development, Variable Shift, 0.0 FTE) to Providence St. Mary Medical Center in Walla Walla, Washington. In this position you will:
Assist in the development of patient/staff educational programs and materials.
Serve as a role model, teacher and coach to increase expertise of nurses and other clinical staffs as requested.
Coordinate, implement, and evaluate orientation, in service and continuing education for nurses and other clinical staffs as requested.
Participate in applicable performance improvement and research activities and represents his/her specialty on appropriate committees and task forces.
Demonstrate self-motivation by independently following through with assigned committee or project work.
Demonstrate knowledge of state, federal and the joint commission standards pertinent to scope of practice within the clinical operations of the hospital supporting all members of the team to achieve compliance.
Serve a clinical resource for students and community groups as needed.
Demonstrate knowledge and accuracy using hospital computer information systems as determined by department access restrictions.
Collect data and maintain department records in an organized manner consistent with hospital and regulatory requirements.
Required qualifications for this position include:
Current Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in Washington State
Three (3) years experience of Acute Care Nursing.
Basic computer skills required; Word, PowerPoint, Excel.
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
Bachelor’s degree in Nursing. If BSN not completed upon hire, the educator must be willing to actively pursue this degree within two years.
Master's Degree in Nursing, Education, or allied health field.
Two (2) years experience in staff development or academic teaching
Current American Heart Association BLS instructor credentials.
