Providence Health & Services Occupational Therapist - Outpatient in Walla Walla, Washington


Providence is calling a Occupational Therapist (OT) Outpatient (Therapy Services, Day Shift, 1.0 FTE) to Providence Medical Group in Walla Walla, Washington. We are a community of caregivers delivering every day on our Mission to provide compassionate care that is accessible for all - especially those who are poor and vulnerable.

In this position you will:

  • Evaluate patient/client current physical status and develop individualized, measurable and functional treatment goals and establishes interventions as appropriate to patient age, condition, diagnosis, response to treatment and learning needs.

  • Plan and implement a comprehensive and individualized occupational therapy treatment plan. Modify and progress the program in response to changing patient/client needs. Instruct patient/client and caregivers to assist in achieving treatment goals.

  • Assume responsibility and accountability for patient panel, including timely access to services, appropriate billing practices and quality of patient outcomes.

  • Promote injury prevention: in-servicing employees, families/caregivers and community groups as appropriate, and identifying and reporting potential concerns.

  • Assist in developing, implementing, coordinating and reviewing occupational therapy policies and procedures, and recommend changes as appropriate.

  • Supervise Occupational Therapist Assistants, Occupational Therapy Aides and Occupational Therapy students, volunteers and other observers as assigned by Manager/Lead.


Required qualifications for this position include:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Therapy.

  • Licensed to practice as an Occupational Therapist in the State of Washington, or temporary license if new graduate awaiting licensing exam results.Oregon licensure may be required if needed in the service area.

  • NBCOT certification.

  • Current Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers through the American Heart Association within 30 days of hire.

  • Medicare National Provider Identification Number (NPI) within 30 days of hire.

  • Payer Credentialing.

Preferred qualifications for this position include:

  • Master's Degree or PH.D. in Occupational Therapy.

  • Two years orthopedic (hand therapy), Lymphedema, wound care and/or neurologic outpatient experience.

  • Knowledge of currently accepted occupational therapy theory and practice, and associated legal and ethical issues.
